Netflix has partnered with Matt Reeves' production company 6th & Idaho, BOOM! Studios, and Peter Dinklage's Estuary Films to develop a feature adaptation of the graphic novel "Last Sons of America."

The project originated when 6th & Idaho secured the rights from BOOM! Studios to adapt the graphic novel created by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Matthew Dow Smith.

The story unfolds in a near-future America where infertility has become widespread, transforming children into highly sought-after commodities on the international market. The narrative centers on two brothers, Jackie and Julian (portrayed by Dinklage), who work as adoption facilitators in Colombia, arranging transactions with families willing to part with their children for what appears to be improved opportunities in the United States. Their operation takes a dangerous turn when circumstances force them into a corner, leading Jackie to commit a critical error. This mistake propels the siblings into uncovering a sinister conspiracy underlying their world's reproductive crisis—a truth that may prove too devastating to confront.

Josh Mond, known for directing "James White," will helm the project and pen the screenplay.

Peter Dinklage, celebrated for his Golden Globe victory and multiple Emmy Awards, leads the cast.

The production team includes Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan representing 6th & Idaho, Peter Dinklage and David Ginsberg from Estuary Films, alongside Ross Richie and Stephen Christy from BOOM! Studios. Rafi Crohn of 6th & Idaho and Adam Yoelin from BOOM! Studios will serve as executive producers.

This collaboration continues the working relationship between 6th & Idaho and BOOM! Studios, who are currently preparing "Mouse Guard" for 20th Century Fox, where BOOM! Studios maintains a first-look arrangement.
