The Roadmap: How to Actually Get the Gear

Follow this progression to gear up efficiently:

1. Levels 1-60: The Campaign & Leveling

  Goal: Reach Level 60 and complete the Capstone Dungeon to unlock World Tier 3 (Torment I).

  Gear Source: Use whatever you find. Equip gear with green "up" arrows. Salvage everything at the Blacksmith to build material reserves. Use the Codex of Power (unlocked via dungeons) to imprint essential Aspects onto your best Rares, turning them into Legendaries.

  Pro-Tip: Temper your Rare items at the Blacksmith. This adds a specific affix, like Movement Speed on Diablo 4 Gold boots, dramatically improving your leveling speed.

2. Fresh Level 60: The 750 Item Power Baseline

  Goal: Get a full set of 750 Item Power gear.

Best Methods:

  Obols & the Purveyor of Curiosity: Spend your Obols (earned from events) gambling for slots that are behind. This is the fastest way to fill slots with 750 Legendaries and has a chance for 800 and even Mythics.

  Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers: Complete bounties (Grim Favors). A pro-tier strategy: Teleport directly to boss lairs with active favors. Kill the boss on Torment I (for speed), then switch to Torment IV before turning in the favors at the tree to get Torment IV-level loot caches.

3. Gearing for Torment & Ancestral loot (Item Power 800+)

  Goal: Unlock Torment I and start hunting Ancestral (800+ Item Power) gear with Greater Affixes.

  How to Unlock Torment I: Complete Pit Tier 10. To unlock the Pit, complete the second Capstone Dungeon.

4. Best Early Ancestral Farms:

  Hidden Armory Nightmare Sigils: These new sigils guarantee Ancestral drops.

  "Lair" Bosses (Duriel, Andariel, etc.): Use boss summoning materials to target-farm specific Uniques. Check boss loot tables on MMOEXP to know who drops what.

  Infernal Hordes: Complete waves and defeat the final boss, Bartuk, on Torment IV for guaranteed Ancestral loot and valuable Scrolls of Restoration.

  Reputation Board Caches: Your seasonal reputation board offers "Mystery Greater Archetype Caches" that guarantee Ancestral items with Greater Affixes.

5. The Endgame Grind: Optimization & Mythics

  Goal: Acquire 5-Greater-Affix (5GA) gear, Mythic Uniques, and perfect your build.

  Top-Tier Farming Activities:

  The Undercity (Expansion): The "Tributes of Radiance" offer targeted Ancestral loot and have one of the best ~30% drop rates for Mythic Uniques over time.

  Bile (The Top-Tier Boss): The only source of guaranteed Ancestral Uniques. Requires rare "Betrayer Husks" from other boss activities.

  Aspiredan (Seasonal Mechanic): Collect horns from bosses, summon Aspiredan, and open its chests for massive material and gear dumps, including many Greater Affix items.

  Escalating Nightmare Dungeons: A great source of Buy Diablo 4 materials Neath Iron, boss mats, and high-density elite packs that drop GA gear.

  Mercenary Bartering (Expansion): Level all mercenaries to unlock their barters. Spend Pale Marks for targeted GA gear, boss mats, and Masterworking materials.
